Behind the White Curtain explores the relationship between human beings and nature. Instead of a winter wonderland, the winter landscape is reduced to a place of inner struggle for the individual to brave the elements. The snow becomes a mask, a facade, a metaphor for the coldness and isolation in society.

Antje Feger & Benjamin F. Stumpf both studied at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design and under the Maumaus Independent Study Program in Lisbon, and they currently live and work in Hamburg. In their research-based installations and interventions, the artistic duo often refers to specific contexts and places. Starting from traces, narratives and inscriptions, they develop investigations, documentations and collections that serve as a source of material for their artistic works. Central to this is the translation of the research process into installation stagings and arrangements that consciously work with scenic and object-aesthetic means. Since 2000, their works have been presented at both solo and group exhibitions across Europe.
