Mira Gáberová focuses on the theme of closeness in its fragility and intimacy. A touch of the body, the intertwining of three pairs of women’s hands, resembles a web of interpersonal relationships. Tension and release. The video evokes a desire for sharing, being together and engaging in a dialogue, something that is becoming increasingly rare and valuable.

Mira Gáberová (1979) graduated from the Department of Painting and New Media of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. She is a laureate of the Oskar Čepan Award. Her works focus on analysing the possibilities of expressing transient art forms. She currently works on the topics of banal everyday situations that take place in her personal and family life and examines the place of an individual and their existence in today’s world, often including autobiographical features. Another aspect of Mira Gáberová’s work is the study of the nature of social interaction, the role of common experience and the mutual interaction of participants in the very process of creating the final work of art.
